Telangana MBBS Counselling 2020 Reservation details


Telangana MBBS 2020 eligibility criteria :



This includes a set of Telangana MBBS eligibility criteria 2020 conditions required to be fulfilled by candidates to secure a seat in medical admission of Telangana MBBS. For the convenience of candidates these have been listed below:

  • Below given domicile conditions must be fulfilled by candidates if they wish to qualify for Telangana MBBS admission 2020

1. Local candidatesA Candidate for admission shall be regarded as a local candidate in relation to a local area.

a. If aspirant studied in an Educational Institution(s) in such local area for a period of not less than 4 consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may first appear in the relevant qualifying examination. 

b. In case a medical aspirant has studied in two or more local areas for a period of seven consecutive years where the last year includes passing class 12 examination. Then the authorities will consider that area in which the candidate has stayed for the longest for Telangana MBBS 2020 admission

c. In such a case where the candidate stayed for equal duration out of the seven years in a particular area, then, the place where he stayed last will be considered.

2. Non-local candidates - Among the reservation of seats, 15% percent are available as unreserved. On these seats, both local and non-local candidates can take admission for Telangana MBBS through NEET. However, it is mandatory for candidates to have stayed in the state for a minimum duration of ten years. Other requirements for these seats are:

a. Firstly, candidates must fulfill the basic NEET eligibility criteria 2020 for admissions.

b. It is mandatory for candidates to secure the minimum qualifying percentile as set by the authorities. The same can be checked in the table below.

LOCAL AREA :

1. The part of the State comprising the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram,  Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, and Prakasham shall be regarded as the local area for the purposes of admission to the Andhra University, **(Nagarjuna University) and to any other education institution (other than a State-wide  University or State-wide Educational Institution) which is subject to the control of the  State Government and is situated in that part.

2. The part of the State comprising the Districts of Adilabad, Hyderabad, Rangareddy,  Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, and Warangal shall be regarded as a local area for the purposes of admission to the Osmania University, ** (the Kakatiya University) and to any other educational institution (other than a Statewide University or State-wide Educational Institution) which is subject to the control of the State Government and is situated in that part.

The part of the State comprising the Districts of Ananthapur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor, and Nellore shall be regarded as a local area for the purposes of admission to  Sri Venkateswara University and to any other educational institution (other than a Statewide University or State-wide Educational Institution) which is subject to the control of the State Government and is situated in that part.

Telangana MBBS Admission 2020 - Reservation of seats :


 A. RESERVATION FOR SCHEDULED CASTE(S.C) AND SCHEDULED TRIBE(S.T) :

Out of the seats available under competent authority quota for admission by the University,  15% of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, 6% of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes in each local area.

B. RESERVATION FOR BACKWARD CLASSES (BC-A/B/C/D/E) :

29% of the available seats for admission by the University for MBBS/ BDS are reserved for candidates belonging to Backward Classes as follows:

  • BC-A - 7%
  • BC-B - 10%
  • BC-C - 1%
  • BC-D - 7%
  • BC-E - 4%
📌 Candidates of the Backward Classes(BC-A/B/C/D/E), Scheduled caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe(S.T) belonging to the State of Telangana and AP for castes, which are specified by the Govt. of Telangana from time to time shall be considered for reservations.

C. RESERVATION FOR EWS CATEGORY :

 10% of total seats in specified Government Medical / Dental Colleges ( Specified for EWS  Reservation implementation ) are reserved for economically weaker section ( EWS ) Category candidates who are not covered under the existing scheme of reservation for SC, ST & socially and educationally backward classes. These reservations will be implemented from specially sanctioned seats for implementation of EWS reservations which are exclusively permitted for implementation of  EWS Reservation by the Medical Council / Dental Council / Ministry of Health Government of India in specified Government Colleges.

👉 Open category candidates claiming reservation under EWS Category shall obtain the relevant EWS certificate for reservation under economically weaker section issued by Tahsildars who is the competent Authority in the state of Telangana for the issue of EWS Certificate.

D. RESERVATION FOR WOMEN CANDIDATES :

33 1/3% of seats are guaranteed for women candidates in each category, This regulation of guarantee shall not be applicable if women candidates are selected on merit in each category from 33 1/3% or more of the seats therein.

E. RESERVATIONS UNDER THE CATEGORIES OF CAP / NCC, PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (PWD), AND POLICE MARTYR’S CHILDREN  (PMC) :
Seats shall be reserved in each course and in each category for the following to the  extent indicated against them: 

1. CAP (Army): 1 % 
2. National Cadet Corps: 1 % 
3. Persons With Disabilities (PWD): 5 % 
4. Police Martyrs Children (PMC) : 0.25%


📌 The guidelines of Govt. of India and regulations of the Medical Council of India will be observed in making admissions of Persons With Disabilities (PWD).

The candidate seeking the benefit of the reservation should present him/herself before a Medical Board comprising of at least one Expert/Specialist from the specialty of  Orthopedics, Department of Medicine, Neurology, Hematology of the rank of  Professor constituted by KNRUHS, Warangal. 
The Medical Board constituted by the Competent Authority will examine and assess the percentage of disability of persons with disabilities, who have applied seeking admission under the PWD quota. The report of the Medical Board is final for considering a candidate under the PWD quota as per rules.




CERTIFICATE(S) REQUIRED :

 A. SOCIAL STATUS CERTIFICATE:

The candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes shall furnish the latest certificate in the prescribed proforma issued by a competent authority in support of their claims.

B. MINORITY STATUS CERTIFICATE :

Candidates belonging to the Muslim Minority category should furnish a certificate in support of their claim.
